What is MemberGate?

How much work is involved in maintaining a MemberGate site?

Once MemberGate is set up on your host, it pretty much runs on auto-pilot. You establish the 'rules' for MemberGate to follow (through a control panel) and MemberGate does the rest.

It automatically synchronizes all pages, departments, portals, menus and navigation panels when new content is added, edited or deleted, manages all user and member resources, even watches over any discussion forums or classified ad features you might set up (MemberGate can automatically build and monitor an unlimited number of discussion groups).

The 60+ configurable reports in MemberGate allow you to quickly see site status, daily transactions, member activity, even suspicious activity.

What about adding content pages?

MemberGate makes it extremely easy to add new pages to your site. You can set up an unlimited number of content providers and department managers who use the control panel to add content into the areas that you assign to them.

Adding content is a simple matter of either typing the text or pasting it in, and selecting any graphics you want to appear in the content page.

Following the rules you set, Membergate builds the content page, uploads any images to be used in the page, and then updates your entire site with tease copy and links to the page.

Again, you control who can add content pages, and where they can be added.

With MemberGate, the department and content pages can be in either a public area (viewable by all), or in the members-only area.

When you place pages or departments in the Members Only area, only those members who have joined the site can log in and view the private pages.

MemberGate is the gatekeeper that decides which information can be viewed by each visitor, and makes sure that only those authorized to access the members-only area actually get in.

MemberGate's unique security system blocks unauthorized visitors and can instantly detect and stop password sharing.

Once you tell MemberGate the rules (who can visit what areas of your site), MemberGate does the rest. (It even provides daily reports on suspicious activity -- alerting you to users that might be attempting to abuse their privileges.)

What if I have an existing database of members? Can I import those into MemberGate?

Yes, you can import data from existing data bases into MemberGate. Just let us know before we do the live installation on your server and will do the data import for you.

Is MemberGate used for adult sites?

No. MemberGate is not designed for sites that offer adult images. We do not license the software for that type of application.

Is there any special hardware or server equipment needed to use MemberGate?

MemberGate will run on almost any Windows NT host that supports Cold Fusion 4.5. This means that MemberGate sites can be hosted for as little as $50 a month. (And you get choose the host you want.)

Can I host MemberGate on my own in-house server?

Yes, as long as your server is running Windows NT4.0+ and has Cold Fusion 4.5 installed.
